Flyer and Poster

Since 1939 Melbourne University Choral Society has been presenting performances renowned for their youthful energy and musical verve.

Joined by the acclaimed RMP Orchestra and The Australian Children's Choir, MUCS presents Mozart's REQUIEM - a work of profound humanity - in a new completion by leading composer Gordon Kerry, as well as a set of four REQUIEM TROPES featuring the exquisite delicacy of children's voices, woven into the familiar fabric of Mozart's original score. In addition to this, hear two contrasting and emotionally-charged works of great power and intensity: the deeply-moving SCHICKSALSLIED (Song of Destiny) by Brahms which tells of mankind's fate will be presented alongside Gordon Kerry's passionate cantata THROUGH THE FIRE, written in response to the devastating bushfires of 2004.

The concert will be dedicated to the victims of the recent Victorian bushfire disaster.

Andrew Wailes conducts over 200 musicians, and four outstanding Australian soloists in what promises to be an unforgettable concert experience. The concert marks MUCS' 70th anniversary. Book now to secure your seat in the inspiring and atmospheric setting of Melbourne's historic St. Paul's Cathedral.
