The well-being of our members and our patrons is extremely important to us, so MUCS has adopted a range of safety measures to ensure that we can still operate but in a safe and responsible way.
Look for this unique MUCS QR CODE at all rehearsals and events, and remember to register attendance and fill in the details prior to entering the auditorium. This is mandatory, and will enable accurate contact tracing should the need arise, as well as serve as the official attendance record of rehearsals and assist with choir administration.
An automated hand sanitiser station is provided at the entry point, and all MUCS members and visitors are asked to use hand sanitiser upon entry and again on departure from the Auditorium. Extra hand sanitiser is also available in the rehearsal room.
Membership is all online via the MUCS website and Trybooking. There are no paper attendance rolls at rehearsals, but rather, attendance will be monitored and recorded via the QR tracing system. Please ensure you are a paid up member if you wish to attend MUCS rehearsals.
As part of our venue hire, professional cleaners spray table surfaces, door handles, piano keys, and chairs in the auditorium. MUCS members do not need to do this themselves, but MUCS has a full set of cleaning products on hand if required.
As advised by the government health officers, MUCS is employing social distancing at rehearsals. Members are asked not to move chairs, as they have been spaced to ensure proper distancing. Members are asked to avoid congregating in small spaces, and to refrain from handshaking and close personal contact. As space is going to be limited during this time, it is essential you are a paid up member of MUCS if you wish to attend rehearsals. Numbers will be capped and priority will be given to financial members.
To enable us to manage rehearsals, members will be sent a link to pre-register their intended attendance at all rehearsals. When maximum numbers are reached, members will be notified, and rehearsals may need to be split into two sessions to enable everyone to attend. Another reason to ensure you are a paid up member, and that you stay in touch!
Due to recent easing of restrictions around the wearing of facemasks, the use of facemasks during rehearsals whilst seated is not mandatory, but we encourage people to bring a mask and wear it when arriving and departing. They can be removed whilst actually singing, but if you prefer to wear them all the time that is absolutely fine. Note that this may change, and MUCS will comply as directed by Health Department and Government advice.
